It’s a big week here at Daughter of a Shepherd towers as we approach our first birthday! I will be updating the online shop this evening, Monday 3rd October at 7pm (19.00) BST with what the mill have described as ‘the final lot’ of my Daughter of a Shepherd Hebridean & Zwartbles DK yarn.
It’s hard to believe that less than a year ago I was looking at a barn full of raw, undervalued fleece, wondering about the state of the British wool market and debating whether or not to sink my life savings into having it spun. Now here we are, reaching the bottom of the wool sacks and looking at the last batch of the 2015 clip. I cannot say it enough, but thank you to each and every one of you for all the support – it wouldn’t have happened without you.
Alongside the Daughter of a Shepherd yarn will be the beautifully elegant Ardalanish tweed pouches handcrafted by Julia ‘woollenflower’ Billings.
There are four different fabrics to choose from and they are, clockwise from top left, Herringbone, Keystone, Diamond Twill and Tattersal.
I have already restocked the online shop with our printed cotton tote bags, FARMERS’ Welsh Lavender hand cream, Candlestick Press ‘Ten Poems About’ booklets, and will be adding to the enchanting range of nature titles from Little Toller. Additionally there will be printed copies of the Lambing Shed hat and mitts pattern set by Anna Elliot which includes the story of the pattern along with a download code so you can add the pattern to your Ravelry library.
How far we have come and the journey doesn’t end here! Keep an eye on the blog for more news later in the week as I celebrate our first birthday.
Apologies to newsletter subscribers who are having trouble reading the text due to formatting issues. There is a bug somewhere in my Mailchimp template which I hope to get sorted out but in the meantime will continue to post the main points here on the blog.
