The glorious weather last week has meant an excellent growth spurt for our balcony plants. After the initial excitement of our first tomato, they have appearing left, right and centre and this morning the count was up to eight.
I guess the next stage of excitement will be when they start turning red. Ironically, I don’t actually like raw tomatoes but can’t deny they smell wonderful. It’s a very comforting scent and takes me straight back to my childhood helping Grandad water the tomato plants in his greenhouse.
Over on the makeshift greenhouse shelf, the parsley has been busy doing it’s thing and the first ‘proper’ parsley shaped leaves have sprouted.
They are so tiny and delicate; I can see why fancy chefs favour these micro-herbs.
In other news, Mr K drew a winner from his knitted hat for the Silver Screen Knits Vol. 2 e-book and I’m pleased to say the name is Tina who left the following comment: ‘I’ve been eyeing silver screen knits for some time – the patterns in both books are gorgeous. They’re definitely on the wish list.‘Congratulations Tina, I will be in touch and many thanks again to Kathleen for such a lovely interview and prize giveaway.
I’m entering a slightly crazy work period, and will be taking the blog down to twice-weekly posts, which I hope to publish on a Monday and a Thursday. If I manage to get ahead of myself there will be occasional bonus posts but in the meantime I’ll continue to micro-blog through Twitter and Instagram where you can also keep up with the #worldcupsocks knitalong. I’ll take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who stops by and reads my ramblings, so ‘thank you’.
