hygge

There’s always something going on behind the scenes and today I can introduce Hygge, the latest pattern collaboration I have tech edited for Loop, London.

Hygge by Loop, London

Hygge, which roughly translates as ‘cosiness’ in Danish, is a gorgeous baby jacket designed by Vibe Ulrik Sondergaard, author of Labour of Love and Lullaby Knits.

Hygge in Spruce

Knit in Loop’s latest arrival, Hudson by Jill Draper, a wonderfully firm and bouncy worsted weight yarn perfect for all the texture created by the various stitch patterns. The colour palette is equally beautiful and I picked the shade ‘Spruce’ for my version.

The jacket is knit in four pieces from the bottom upwards before joining into one for the yoke shaping. Block it before seaming in it’s naturally occurring circular shape and sewing up will be a cinch. A clever side opening along the raglan line and down the side seam is the perfect opportunity for choosing buttons and aren’t these Red Riding Hood and the Wolf ones fabulous!

It’s a lovely little pattern, perfect for boys and girls and it knits up in no time.

One more dreamy picture!

Hygge in Cappuccino

If you hot foot it over to Loop Knit Lounge there is a prize draw to win a copy of the pattern and a skein of Hudson yarn, but be quick as entries close on Wednesday.

Hygge is available in print from Loop in Islington and as a download via Ravelry. I look forward to seeing all your versions appear.
