I’ve been bursting to tell you all about this but can finally reveal that I am the new columnist for Inside Crochet magazine!
“Confessions of a Pattern Collector” is a monthly rummage through my vintage pattern collection accompanied by a crochet pattern inspired by a pattern or certain ‘look’ found within the archive.
For the launch column I have designed “Torvill & Dean”, inspired by a 1920’s skating scarf, fully updated for modern tastes and crocheted in zingy colours of the organic BC Garn Semilla wool that also offer the opportunity to play with a multitude of colour combinations. It’s a really straightforward make so is perfect for new crocheters and more experienced hookers alike. Mr K has put an order in for one – in fact he’s earmarked the sample for himself but might be sorely disappointed when he doesn’t receive it!
I would like to say a big thank you to my editor, Claire Montgomerie (montyknits) for giving me this wonderful opportunity and styling the column so beautifully, and also to Susan Cropper of Loop who is providing yarn support for the patterns. Thank you for all the messages I have received through social media from those of you who have already seen it and I’d love to hear from you if you have plans to hook your own Torvill & Dean up!
Issue 74 with my first column (still can’t believe I can say that!) is on sale now at all good yarn shops, newsagents and supermarkets.
