I had hoped to get this blog post published late last week but things got a wee bit chaotic in the build-up to Yarndale, which was fab and I’ll tell you more about it later in the week. In the meantime, I can show you Mr K’s new hat…
This is the North Toque from Pom Pom Quarterly issue 14, crocheted in very precious vintage Rowan Tweed from deep stash and finished off with what I describe as a ‘scrufty’ pompom!
It made the perfect hat from which to draw a name for the Big Hook Crochet book giveaway and I’m pleased to announce the winner is Jo who left the following comment:
“What an amazing book! So inspiring. The biggest hook I have ever crocheted with is an 8mm [US L] which isn’t that impressive at all – I have tended to go the other way and crochet very fine thread… until now! I’d love to do some chunky hook work!”
Many congratulations Jo and I’ll be in touch to arrange delivery of your book. Thank you for all your entries and a big thank you to Emma for a lovely interview and CICO Books for the prize.
Whilst I prepare a Yarndale post, don’t forget it’s the Knitting & Stitching Show at Ally Pally next week. I’m hoping to get there but October is, to put it very mildly, a very busy publishing month so I’ll probably make a last minute decision. If you’re thinking of popping along you can find a few tips over on this post to help you plan your visit and make the day go as smoothly as possible.
