Beanies & Bobble Hats by Fiona Goble is the fabulous follow-up to Scarves & Cowls featured on the blog last year.
This new collection contains 36 hats for men, women and kids, all of which are quick and easy makes. As I have found with my From Stash project, hats are perfect for stash-busting and this collection definitely ticks that box, with most of the designs using just one or two balls of yarn. Bright colour combinations and an abundance of pompoms also provide the ideal opportunity to use up odds and ends.
In addition to the beanies and bobble hats of the title, there are a whole range of styles with berets, headbands, Baker Boy caps, hoods and turbans making an appearance.
Likewise, plenty of different constructions and techniques from basic garter and stocking stitch through to cables, lace, Fair Isle and intarsia will keep you busy and provide the perfect opportunity to learn or practice a few new skills.
It’s a fabulous book with something for everyone–perfect for weekend knitting and last-minute gifts.
I have a copy of Beanies & Bobble Hats to give away to one of my lovely readers! All you need to do is reply to this blog post telling me your favourite style of hat, or alternatively a famous wearer of hats and I’ll kick things off with Frank Spencer and his beret, but look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Entries close at midnight on Wednesday 4th March 2015 after which a winner will be picked at random from Mr K’s favourite hat–it’s a red bobble hat with a huge pompom! Good luck everyone!
