It’s here! I’m thrilled to be able to announce that the new, expanded and updated version of my popular POP! baby cardigan pattern is now available to purchase.
POP! first appeared in issue 11 of Knit Now magazine and browsing through the Ravelry gallery it has done exactly what I intended it to! Designed as a quick baby knit for those last minute emergencies, I have now taken comments and suggestions on board and updated the pattern to include 6 sizes, ranging from newborn up to 2 years, sleeve instructions for working both flat and in the round, and full, clear instructions make it perfect for beginners as well as more advanced knitters. There are no charts and it can be worked on straight needles or back and forth on circulars if you prefer. There are also instructions for working a male or female button band making it a truly unisex garment, in fact a few knitters have cleverly worked both sets of buttonholes then sewn up the one that is surplus to requirements and placed the button over the top, so you can make it in advance of baby’s arrival then style it as necessary. Genius!
Thank you so much to everyone who has knit this little garment, I’m incredibly flattered by all the lovely comments and thank you all as ever for your support, it really does mean so much and I look forward to many more POP! cardigans appearing.
