I learnt my lesson regarding Christmas knitting a few years ago following a panicky Christmas Eve spent knitting, sewing and blocking into the wee small hours so now I knit gifts through the year and give them as birthday presents instead. However, when I saw the Sweet Little Owlets keyring pattern by Debbie Orr of Skein Queen I couldn’t resist immediately downloading it and casting on for gifts.
I’ve decided to make a whole parliament of owls as a lucky dip for Mums friends who’ve been looking out for her over the past few months. They are the perfect token to show people you are thinking of them but don’t leave you knitting after midnight on Christmas Eve! I have used leftovers from my stash and had a good rummage in the button tin for eyes.
Debbie has very kindly offered a Sweet Little Owlet kit for one of my lucky readers comprising of a copy of the pattern, 5 mini skeins of Skein Queen Voluptuous yarn and 5 keychains so you can make your own little owlets. To enter simply reply to this blogpost by midnight on 7th December and I’ll draw the winner out of Santa’s hat. Good luck!
